USB Screen Share: OTG Mirror
Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how USB Screen Share: OTG Mirror ("we", "our", or "the app") handles user data. By downloading and using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Data Collection & On-Device Processing
Our app functions as a hardware USB client establishing peer-to-peer screen streaming between two connected Android devices using the Android Open Accessory and ADB protocol:
- Screen & Video Display: The video stream received over the USB cable is decoded directly in memory using Android's native hardware decoder (MediaCodec) and rendered on your display. No video frames or screenshots are saved or sent to any remote server.
- Audio Capture: Audio transmitted over the USB connection is played through the receiver device's local audio output (AudioTrack) in real-time. No audio recordings are stored.
- Control Inputs: Touch events, navigation key codes (Back, Home, Recents, Power, Volume), and text inputs are sent directly through the secure USB link to the connected target device only.
3. Android Permissions & Foreground Services
The app requires specific Android permissions solely to enable direct USB hardware functionality:
- USB Device Access (
android.hardware.usb.action.USB_DEVICE_ATTACHED): Required to detect and communicate with the connected Android device via OTG cable. - Foreground Service (
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE): Required to keep the USB hardware stream and screen mirror active when switching apps or locking the screen without interruptions. A persistent notification is displayed whenever a session is active. - Network & Internet (
INTERNET,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used solely by third-party advertising SDKs (Google AdMob) to serve ads when connected to the internet. The screen mirroring functionality itself does not require an active internet connection.
4. Third-Party Services & Advertising
To keep the app free, we display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process standard advertising data (such as Google Advertising ID, device identifiers, and crash logs) in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy:
- Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob): Google Privacy & Terms
You can manage personalized ads preferences through your Android device settings under Settings > Google > Ads.
5. Security of Your Data
Because all screen sharing and remote control operations are conducted over a physical, direct point-to-point USB cable (with ADB RSA key cryptographic authorization), your data is isolated from the internet and protected against Wi-Fi sniffing, packet interception, and remote unauthorized access.
6. Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
