Privacy Policy - USB OTG Mouse
USB OTG Mouse
Core Privacy Commitment: USB OTG Mouse is built with privacy by design. We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, location data, usage statistics, or analytics. All interactions and remote inputs remain strictly local on your device and the physical USB cable.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how USB OTG Mouse ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you install, access, or use our mobile application on Android devices. We are committed to transparency and safeguarding user privacy.
By using USB OTG Mouse, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information Collection and Use
We believe your personal data belongs solely to you. Specifically:
- No Personal Information Collected: We do not collect names, phone numbers, email addresses, contacts, passwords, photos, or files.
- No Analytics or Tracking SDKs: The application does not integrate any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics engines (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Flurry), or behavioral tracking mechanisms.
- No User Account or Registration: You do not need to register, log in, or provide any credentials to use any feature of this application.
- No Cloud Storage: None of your interactions, keystrokes, screen captures, or mouse movements are uploaded to any server or cloud infrastructure.
3. Application Permissions and Justification
The application requests only the minimal Android system permissions strictly necessary to execute its core remote control functionality:
| Permission / Feature | Technical Identifier | Purpose & Justification |
|---|---|---|
| USB Host Feature | android.hardware.usb.host |
Enables your host phone to detect, enumerate, and communicate with a connected target device (phone, tablet, or Android TV) over a physical USB OTG cable. |
| USB Device Access | android.permission.USB_PERMISSION |
Prompted at runtime by Android OS for explicit user approval to open a direct, local hardware communication channel with the connected USB accessory. |
| Keep Screen Awake | android.permission.WAKE_LOCK |
Prevents the host phone screen from going to sleep while you are actively using the trackpad, keyboard, or remote controls. |
| Local Network / Sockets | android.permission.INTERNETandroid.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Used strictly for local device socket endpoints and standard network stack operations (e.g., local debugging/ADB transport bridges). No remote server requests or cloud data transmissions are made. |
| Local Media Storage (Screenshots) | Android MediaStore / Scoped Storage | When you tap "Screenshot" and choose "Save to Phone", the captured image from your target screen is saved locally to your device's Pictures/Screenshots directory. It is never transmitted externally. |
4. USB OTG & Peer-to-Peer Communication
USB OTG Mouse operates through a direct physical connection between two devices via a USB OTG cable:
- Physical Isolation: Input commands (mouse cursor movements, left/right clicks, scrolling, navigation button presses, and keystrokes) are transmitted point-to-point directly over the physical USB wire.
- 100% Offline Operation: The app does not require an active internet connection or external server to control the target device.
- Target Device Authorization: Communication with the target device requires standard Android Debug Bridge (ADB) authorization. You must explicitly confirm the "Allow USB debugging?" dialog on your target device's screen before any commands can be sent.
5. Third-Party Services & SDKs
The application does not include any third-party SDKs for advertising, telemetry, crash reporting, or user profiling. Your data is never sold, rented, monetized, or shared with third parties under any circumstances.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
USB OTG Mouse complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Families Policies. Because we do not collect any personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect, store, or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13.
7. Security of Your Data
Because all commands are routed over a direct physical USB cable using standard cryptographic keys generated locally on your phone (for ADB authentication), communication cannot be intercepted wirelessly. We do not maintain any servers, databases, or user logs.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect future feature updates or regulatory requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We encourage you to review this policy whenever you update the application.
