Application: Mouse for TV: Android TV Mouse (com.adbcommandlibrary.guide)
Effective Date: September 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Mouse for TV: Android TV Mouse ("we", "us", "our", or the "Application") handles information when you install, access, and use our mobile application. We prioritize user privacy and are committed to maintaining transparent, responsible, and privacy-first data practices.

Core Privacy Guarantee: Mouse for TV operates as a direct peer-to-peer local controller. All mouse trackpad gestures, keyboard typing, remote navigation commands, TV screencaps, and television IP addresses are processed strictly within your local private Wi-Fi network. We do not collect, monitor, or transmit your control sessions or personal keystrokes to any external servers.

1. Information We Process and How It Is Used

A. Local Remote Control & Network Interaction

The Application connects your mobile device directly to your Android TV or TV Box over your local Wi-Fi connection using standard Android Debug Bridge (ADB) protocols:

  • Local Wi-Fi Network & Device IP: The app scans your local Wi-Fi subnet to detect compatible Android TV devices. IP addresses and connection port numbers are stored locally on your mobile device's private storage (DataStore) solely to enable automatic reconnection. This data is never sent to external servers.
  • Mouse Gestures & Remote Key Events: Trackpad movements, clicks, directional D-pad events, volume adjustments, and media commands are transmitted in real time directly to your paired TV via local socket connections. None of these actions are logged or stored.
  • Text Input & Typing: When you use the phone keyboard to enter text on your TV, text characters are sent directly to the active text field on your TV over the local connection. We never record, harvest, or transmit your keystrokes, passwords, or input data.
  • Installed TV Apps & Management: The app retrieves the list of installed applications from your connected TV over the local network to enable quick-launch capabilities. This data remains on your phone and is never shared.
  • APK Sideloading & TV Screenshots: If you choose to sideload an APK to your TV or capture a TV screenshot, the files are processed entirely locally between your phone and your TV. Screenshots are saved only to your phone's local storage upon your explicit action.

B. Third-Party Advertising & Analytics Services

To support the free availability of the Application, we integrate industry-standard third-party SDKs that may collect non-personally identifiable diagnostic and advertising data:

  • Google AdMob (Google LLC): Displays banner and interstitial advertisements. Google AdMob may process non-sensitive device identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / GAID), general device specifications (device model, OS version, screen size), and coarse location data (at country or city level derived from IP address) to serve relevant ads and monitor ad performance.
  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): Displays standardized consent forms to users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.

2. Android Permissions Used and Justifications

The Application requests only the minimal necessary Android permissions required to perform its core functions:

Permission Justification / Functional Purpose
INTERNET Required to establish local peer-to-peer socket connections with your Android TV over your home Wi-Fi network, and to load Google AdMob advertisements.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Enables the app to verify whether an active Wi-Fi connection is present before initiating TV discovery or connection attempts.
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE Allows the application to identify the current Wi-Fi subnet parameters for automatic TV radar discovery.
CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE Enables multicast network packets required to auto-discover compatible Smart TV devices on your local network.
VIBRATE Delivers subtle, tactile haptic feedback when tapping trackpad buttons, virtual clicks, and remote controls. Can be toggled on or off in app settings.

3. Third-Party Privacy Policies & User Opt-Out

Third-party advertising partners operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their practices:

You may reset or delete your Google Advertising ID at any time via your device settings: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID.

4. Data Storage & Retention

We do not own, manage, or operate remote cloud servers that store user profiles, personal accounts, passwords, or personal credentials. All user preferences (such as saved TV profiles, mouse speed sensitivity, and theme choices) reside strictly inside the sandboxed local storage of your mobile device. Uninstalling the Application permanently removes this local data.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

The Application is not intended for or directed toward children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us so that we can promptly remove it.

6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA / CPRA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have specific legal rights regarding your personal information:

  • European Users (GDPR / UK GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, or request erasure of personal data processed by third-party ad providers, as well as the right to withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time through in-app settings or your device advertising settings.
  • California Residents (CCPA / CPRA): We do not sell or rent personal information. Third-party advertising partners may collect device identifiers as described in Section 1B. You may exercise your right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information via device-level advertising controls.

7. Security Practices

Communication between your phone and your Android TV occurs exclusively over your private local area network (LAN) protected by your Wi-Fi router's security protocols (e.g., WPA2/WPA3). The app does not expose your TV or phone control ports to the public internet.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect updates in app functionality or relevant legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date. Your continued use of the Application after changes are published signifies your acceptance of the revised policy.
